Under the supervision of the Security Supervisor, the Transport Officer performs transportation for Hays Med patients that are being involuntarily committed to another facility. The Transport Officers will provide a safe and secure transport for our patients to another facility after being screened by mental health agencies and when requested by nursing staff or case management.
PRN Rate: $12/hour

HIPAA: This position will have access to the following Protected Health Information in order to carry out the duties related to their position at Hays Med based on the following criteria:
Primary – required (routine) to do the job;
Secondary – required for the job, but mostly be exception; and
None – no approved access

Education/Experience: High school graduate or equivalence preferred.
Certificates and Licenses: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required before being placed on call for transports. BLS certification required before being placed on call for transports. Complete competencies and training before being placed on call for transports. A valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record and must be insurable through Hays Med’s insurance carrier. Any traffic warnings or citations earned during the transportation process will be means for immediate termination of employment.
