  • Position Summary

    Under the supervision of the Communications Center Supervisor, the Assisted Parking customer service representative greets, directs and informs patients/customers of hospital and community services; assists patients/customers in and out of vehicles; parks and retrieves vehicles; reports suspicious and policy non compliance; documents and logs daily activity; monitors and maintains entrance for cleanliness.


    Essential Functions:

    • Greets, directs and informs customers/patients of hospital services; and assists with inquiries concerning community services
    • Assists patients/customers in and out of vehicles using proper lifting techniques; provides wheel chair assistance if needed; logs and documents assistance and vehicle parking information; and parks and retrieves patient/customer vehicles
    • Reports suspicious activities and policy non compliance to security; reports and completes log of prisoner patients and disruptive incidents; and assists in emergency/disaster entrance monitoring
    • Monitors and maintains Miller Medical Pavilion entrance cleanliness (vacuums, dusts, picks up interior/exterior trash, etc.)
    • Provides mentorship/coaching in a positive environment by sharing knowledge and expertise with fellow staff and other pertinent individuals/facilities


    HIPAA:  This position will have access to the following Protected Health Information in order to carry out the duties related to their position at Hays Medical Center based on the following criteria:


    Primary – required (routine) to do the job;
    Secondary – required for the job, but mostly be exception; and
    None – no approved access



    Description of Information



    Patient Demographic Information (information used to identify a person): Name, Date of Birth, Address, Race, Marital Status, Religion



    Financial Information/Insurance (information related to insurance, billing and payment): Billing Information, Payer Name, Payer ID, Account Balances, Plan Elements Covered, Payment Information, Payment Rates



    Clinical Information (information that describes a patient’s health status): Diagnosis, Reports/Medical Notes, Test Results, Problem List, Procedures, History and Physical



    Coding Information (clinical information that is in (alpha) numeric format): ICD-9 Codes, Rev Codes, CPT Codes




    Education/Experience: High school graduate or equivalence required; previous customer service experience preferred.


    Certificates and Licenses: A valid Kansas drivers license with an acceptable driving record and must be insurable through the medical center’s insurance carrier; additional certification may be required for certain settings or populations. Specific information and the timeframe in which such certification must be attained will be provided by the department director/manager/supervisor at time of hire/transfer into department.
