Position Summary

Performs the clerical functions of the front office including scheduling, check-in, check-out, data entry, answering phones and chart organization.

Responsibilities

Core/Major Duties

  • Schedules, reschedules patient appointments
  • Greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful matter.
  • Verify patient information
  • Answer phone, screens and forward calls, take messages, and provide information as appropriate
  • Assembles and organizes the patient’s medical record prior to an office visit
  • Maintains order in the reception area
  • Assists with other front office functions as appropriate
  • Follow the policy and procedures of the practice
  • Performs other related duties as appropriate3

Qualifications

Education/Experience: .

High School Diploma preferred

Reception and/or phone answering experience in an office setting, medical office setting preferred

Able to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and the general public

Sensitivity to confidential matters
